Why Propane is a Good Choice

About LP Gas

These days, there’s more than just one option when it comes to heating your home. The Great Valley Propane family stands by what’s tried, true, and cost-effective: propane. So whether you’re looking to make the switch to propane or to explore a relationship with us, here’s why propane is a good choice.

It’s Green. It’s safe. It’s… Friendly!

Good news: Propane is a safe and non-messy choice. Plus, we’re helping our nation since nearly 97% of propane is produced in North America.

Earth-Efficient. Wallet-Efficient.

Mother Nature and your bank account will thank you. The average propane furnace lasts 15-20 years, which is 5-10 years longer than electric heat pumps. And it’s 50% more energy efficient, which means direct savings for you and a reduction of your environmental footprint.

It Goes A Long Way.

Propane works hard for your home, in more ways than one. It’s one of the most versatile energy sources these days, both inside and outside.

Propane works its magic on:

  • Home Heating
  • Stoves and Ovens
  • Hot Water Heaters
  • Fireplaces
  • Barbecues
  • Hot Tubs
  • Heating Garages and Extra Rooms
  • Clothes Dryers
  • Swimming Pools
  • Generators

No other fuel source is this versatile and reliable!

Propane Safety

We teach safety for a reason: your family is our priority. We at Great Valley Propane always want you to feel warm and at home. But don’t forget to be careful. Here are a few pointers our certified team has prepared for you:

Lighting Pilot Lights

If you find that an appliance’s pilot light is out, or is difficult to light, there could be a problem. Please don’t try to resolve it yourself. Instead, call us at 410-598-4180.

Maintaining Your Appliances

It’s always best to have your propane inspected before the start of winter. If your current system is more than 20 years old, we’ll provide you with an extra thorough inspection.

For your safety, keep flammable liquids far away from your propane appliances and tank. Never attempt inspection, removal, or installations yourself. And just call for one of our qualified service technicians and you’ll be taken care of like family.

Before You Run out of Gas…

In the event that you run out of gas, our technicians will need to perform a leak check before turning the gas back on. To prevent these headaches, sign up for our automatic delivery service so you’ll never run out. If you do find yourself out of propane, please call our emergency crew at 410-598-4180.
